A New Mexico stray dog has earned a nickname recently “Subway”. The dog gained the nickname after going viral on social media.
Subway Sally started showing up at a Portables Subway sandwich shop for evening snacks, and people there loved her so much that they kept giving her free meals, and the dog kept returning to the same spot every day.
An employee there took a video of Sally and posted it online, and by the next morning, the video had more than 10 million views! People poured over to the store hoping to catch a photo with Sally.
No one is sure whether Subway Sally is a stray dog or if she has a home. Some think she must have a home because she “looks too clean” to be a stray while others say that they have caught glimpses of her with her puppies around the neighborhood.
There have been rescues attempts in the past, but somehow, it always ends up with Sally going back to the restaurant.
Sally is loved by the community there and has been like that way before she got viral.
We wish Sally the best in her life!
