The German Shepherd police dog named Jagger worked for 7 years along with his partner Captain Kevin Chabot.
During these years, he was well known for his tracking skills, enthusiasm toward work, hardworking personality, and friendliness when being around others in the community.
“He really connects to people,” Chabot said.
Since Jagger joined the department in 2014, he has been deployed for 191 times which is quite impressive; he has tracked fugitives who needed to be caught, found a streaker Ogunquit police which helped in catching them, and even saved Kevin when he was being attacked by a man who was high on LSD in a wooded area.
But, how did Jagger first work in the Wells Police Department? Jagger was bought from a Candian Kennel when he was only 10 months old by the police department.
Even though Jagger was really young he always loved to work and to track suspects. He even won first place at the regional police dog trials four times.
On the day of receiving his certification, Kevin noticed that there was a problem with Jagger’s walk but he thought it may be because of his weight.
Later, he favored one shoulder over another. It was later discovered that Jagger has a cancerous mass in his shoulder.
This diagnosis happened in November.
