Even though the Wet Market of Wuhan was confirmed to have been the breeding ground for the Coronavirus and the ground zero for the outbreak, the wildlife meat trade is still very much alive in the country.
According to reports from Chinese locals, the wet markets didn’t go away. They just found workarounds. Reports are claiming that the sellers have gone online, and they are still selling wild animals for meat.
According to scientists, most of the deadly viruses we have had to deal with in this century come from wild animals. Viruses are very good at jumping between species, but it’s rare for a deadly virus to make these jumps and to infect humans so efficiently as the Coronavirus has done.
Unfortunately, the Chinese wet markets are just the perfect breeding grounds for these deadly viruses.
