A suspect has learned the tough way that some dogs are not to be messed with.
The story starts with a restraining order issued by a Californian woman against her husband, who violated the order and showed up at her workplace. She claims that he showed up there to attempt and hit her with his car.
The police quickly showed up at the scene and the man was violent and refused to comply. Things escalated quickly as the man tried to escape, and the situation turned into a highspeed freeway chase.
The police chased him for the next hour and they finally were able to stop him with the help of spike strips. However, the man still refused to comply and get out of the vehicle.
The police then shot a round of rubber bullets through his window to force him out, and he still wouldn’t budge.
However, what happened next immediately changed the situation. Corona police officer Michael Neff and Duke, his K-9 partner were at the scene. Duke is a 5-year-Belgian Malinois that is also an Iraq war veteran and a former military working dog.
The dog is basically fearless, and his actions showed it. In milliseconds, and before the man could even react, Duke sprang into action, jumping through the car’s window, completely shattering it, and grabbing hold of the man.
The man immediately surrendered and tried getting the dog off him, but Duke would never leave him unless ordered by his partner.
