Nique Segura, an American soldier, was stationed in Italy for some time.
When she finished her deployment in Italy, she was going to travel from Sicily, Italy to Texas in the United States for a permanent change of station.
In a permanent change of station, a soldier relocates from one duty station to another one. A soldier can then move anyplace stateside or overseas.
Unfortunately, her relocation couldn’t happen because her flight got canceled at the last minute due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Also, her two dogs, Diesel and Charlie, were big in their size so they couldn’t fly commercial. Nique then worked another alternative.
“The boys are too big to fly commercial and now I’m responsible for getting my babies back through a private shipping company last minute. Leaving them in Italy is NOT an option.” ” Nique Segura said
Her two dogs each had two different rescue stories. Three years ago, Charlie was found in Sicily living in the field behind Nique’s house.
Nique then decided to take care of him; she started to give him fresh bread and steak as a way to gain his trust. After a period of time, Nique managed to gain his trust and he became family to her.
While Diesel was found six years ago when he was only five weeks old and continued to grow with Nique as time passed by.
“As much as he’s grown in that time, he’s taught me to grow as a person. This guy is literally my best friend,” Nique explains.
Now, this amazing American soldier couldn’t and won’t leave her two dogs in Italy all alone so she started a GoFundMe campaign to help her with the travel expenses.
She is appealing to the American people to help her with her dogs’ travel bills so she can finally have them right beside her in Texas.
