All of these fun events are about adorable pets having fun, and among these young animal athletes is 16-year-old Karlie that is all smiles now, but didn’t smile much in his life.

Karlie will be honored in the third annual Dog Bowl on Animal Planet. Dog Bowl is much like puppy bowl, a friendly, furry game that includes two competing teams.

However, those teams consists of only rescue pets, and they will be playing their version of football – a version with significantly less violence than the human one.

Unlike Puppy Bowl, Dog Bowl features adult and senior pups as the athletes.

Karlie was an instant fan favorite when he competed in last year’s dog bowl, and this year, it will be even better.
