Six years ago, Edgardo Zúñiga Juárez decided to leave everything behind to help the dogs no one else was helping. He packed up his pets and started his adventure with nothing but his dogs and a cart that has the very basic stuff he needs.
Edgardo explained in the video that the dogs living in the cities who are injured or hurt often find people who will take care of them, but this is not the case for dogs on the road and rural areas.
As he and his pups travel around the border of Mexico, he picks up injured and hurt dogs that need help and does anything he can to get them ready for a better life.
He picks up abused and abandoned dogs and treats them, vaccinates them, and even trains them to be calmer.
He believes that the saddest part is not the physical pain these dogs suffer from, but rather, the pain of having to suffer through the difficult times all alone. He admits that sometimes he finds dogs that he can not help, so the best he can do is offer them some company until they rest peacefully for the last time.
Once he is done with preparing the dogs for adoption, he offers them up for adoption and finds them a forever home where they will find the love they deserve.
Edgardo has saved over 500 dogs so far, and his journey is not over yet.
