Marianna Hagan has seen a lot of things during her work as a Mcintosh County Animal Services director, but nothing like this before.
“ This was a new one. New things happen all the time. I’ve never had a dog pulling a crate full of puppies down the road before,”
Marianna Hagan
The mama dog was found tied to a small crate with a blue belt, and the crate had her four puppies inside. There was no room for the puppies to move inside the crate at all.

According to Hagan, the dog was found by a father and son. The two men found them in Townsend and immediately brought them to the shelter.
“They were covered with fleas, with ticks and feces. They smelled really, really bad”
Hagan
Animal Service volunteers immediately went to work, cleaning the dogs, feeding them, and the dogs are now doing much better.
“There’s been a dramatic difference in their health and in their behavior,”
Hagan
Hagan wants to see those responsible for the dogs’ suffering to be punished for their actions. She is saying the person(s) responsible will be facing several charges.

The organization is currently offering a $250 reward for anyone with information that can lead the authorities to the person responsible.
