A child has died because of Coronavirus in California. This is the first coronavirus case that has taken the life of someone who is younger than 18 years old in the United States of America.
“A devastating reminder that COVID-19 infects people of all ages,” said Barbara Ferrer, who is the head of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
She also announced that there are three new Coronavirus deaths and 128 more confirmed cases in the country.
The department then reported the fatalities, saying the following:
“One individual was a youth under the age of 18, and two other individuals were between 50-70 years old.”
Health officials later mentioned that the child’s death could have been caused by something else; however, they are currently unsure of the child died because of Coronavirus or something else.
“One of the individuals between 50-70 years old had underlying health conditions and resided in West Adams, and the other is from a location that is still under investigation.”
Here is what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had to say.
