Dogs are adorable creatures but whenever I take my fluffy son on a ride with me, he tends to leave tiny evil hairs that weave themselves into the car carpet and won’t budge. This had me thinking… How to get all these layers of dog hair out of car carpet?

I’m a proud dog parent that likes my dog to accompany me wherever I go but also I like my car free of hair. And of course, we love our pups dearly so banning them from tagging along in our rides is not an option. come on … Look how cool doggo looks in the picture above.
So how to fix this problem?

How to Get Dog Hair out of Car Carpet Using the Easiest Ways
Vacuum Cleaner
It goes without saying that a good round of vacuuming is the best way to start any hair removal session.
Go to your local hardware store and buy a vacuum cleaner with a pet hair attachment. That will help you in your endeavor of removing dog hair out the tiny corners of the car. There are also handheld vacuum cleaners that would be more convenient and easier to use
Go over areas twice with alternative directions to loosen up stubborn hair, start vacuuming as much loose hair off your carpet car. Remember to vacuum the sides.
Be careful with large amounts of dog hair as it may clog up the vacuum cleaner and damage it.
This is a good method to remove loose hair as fast as you can.
Tip.
If the hair is still sticky or weaved into the carpet threads, The next methods are probably more useful.
Rubber Gloves or Pumice Stone
This is actually one of the most common and popular ways of removing dog hair out car carpets. You can use a pair of dry gloves or a pumice stone but preferably both. but first, dip them in a soapy concentrate of water
How to use:
Get a bucket ready and a pumice stone.
Grab a dry pair of gloves from under the sink of your kitchen and head to the driveway.
Add some water to the bucket and put the glove on.
Wet the area you are going to clean and brush it with your gloves and the stone in a single direction for best results.
To your amazement, A steadily growing clump of loose dog hair will gather on the glove and the stone
Simply dip your gloved hand and the stone into the bucket of water to remove the hair and start over.
Tip.
You can add fabric softener to the mix but we will come to that later.
spray water and squeegee
A spray water can and a squeegee, Really??
I know this is strange but bear with me, please. Using a squeegee to remove your dog’s hair out of your car carpeting and upholstery is actually a smart way and much more handy than what you think.
How to use:
Fill the can with soapy water.
Spray the carpet but don’t overdo it.
Rub the squeegee against the carpet to remove the dog hair.
remove the hair off the squeegee after every wipe.
Tip.
One single recommendation here is to try and move the squeegee in a single direction against the car carpet.
Here Come The Balloons
This is another unconventional method that you can use to get the job done. There is a simple science behind it
upon simple friction, the static electricity generated between the surface of the balloon and the carpet should attract the dog hair and lift it off the carpet and stick it to the surface of the balloon

How to use:
Blow the balloon and clamp it so that no air can escape.
Rub the balloon across the area of the carpet you want to get the hair out of.
Magically the hair will jump from the carpet to the surface of the balloon.
Clean the hair out of the balloon and repeat until you get all the hair in your car carpet.
A Solution of Water and Fabric Softener
This method employs the same technique as the previous one but in reverse. Make a solution of 7 parts water and 1 part fabric softener and put it in a spray can.
The ingredients on the fabric softener will help loosen the hair by breaking any static bond that formed between the hair and the carpet. This will soften the dog hair making it easier to clean.
How to use:
Spray the solution into the parts of the carpet that were difficult to get the hair out of before.
Simply get a wet washcloth or your gloved hand and rub it across the carpet.
The hair will gather around the cloth or your hand more easily now.
Remove the hair off the cloth or your hand and repeat.
Creating a Sticky Surface
As a dog owner yourself you are probably more familiar with these products as quick treatments to get dog hair out of clothes before running out of the door. The same principle applies here.
The Lint Roller:
Roll the brush against the desired area of your carpet just like you would roll it down against your pant leg or your shoulder, the hair will stick to it then you can remove it and repeat.
Duct Tape:
This is a much better method and I personally recommend as lint rollers are more expensive and less effective to get the embedded hair out of your car carpet.
How to use:
Wrap a broad piece of duct tape around your hand with the adhesive part out. Firmly tap on the parts that you wish to remove dog hair from, Then lift and, voilà, problem solved.
Repeat the process again but after a few times replace the tape to maximize effectiveness.
