Mae, a 5-year-old French Mastiff has a heart of gold despite having lived a very tough life. She is able to give so much love to anyone she meets.
When Mae first arrived at Southern Indiana Animal Rescue she weighed just about 70 pounds and was really malnourished.
Unfortunately, she didn’t spend much time there before she was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer. According to vets, she has a few short weeks to live.
Mae’s sweet personality had an instant effect on a foster mom for the rescue, Elizabeth Star, instantly fell in love with Mae and took her home to shower her with love.
Mae has quickly earned tons of followers online and became the spokes-dog for the rescue and attends fundraisers to greet her fans whenever she can.
While Mae loves meeting people, she loves food even more. She devours ten cans of wet dog food a day. Starck posted that the shelter was running low on canned dog and was shocked by the response. The shelter received over 700 cans of dog food and other donations to help care for sweet Mae.
The support and love you all have shown Mae and all of us is astounding and brings me to tears. In the last couple of days Mae has slowed down a bit more, but she still loves any and all attention she can get. But most of all, she still loves her food,

Her tail goes insane when she sees them. She woke me up 5 times through the night wanting to check the cats out

They were then able to adopt her in front of a judge.
Now that Mae has a loving forever home, she is looking forward to spending the rest of her days – good and bad – surrounded by the people she loves the most.
