Dog’s Sixth Sense Saves Man’s Life From House Fires

When Drew Smith rescued Carl from the dog shelter, he didn’t expect that Carl would repay the favor so quickly and save his life just three months later.

When Drew Smith started thinking about adopting a dog, he wanted a Golden Retriever, but this changed when he took a walk at the shelter and his eyes fell on Carl.

When he passed by Carl’s cage at the shelter, he knew he had found his guy.

When he welcomed Carl home, the dog was so quite that Smith even thought that he may be silent or couldn’t bark.

The Spaniel-mix pup was calm and silent all of the time, which is why when he started acting very strange, Smith thought that something might be up, but he didn’t think about it very much.

The dog acted strange all-day long as if he knew something that Smith hadn’t. When they went for a walk at the end of the day, the dog, very strangely, didn’t want to go back inside the house.

When they did go inside, the dog was acting even more strange, but Carl went to bed anyway.

A couple of hours later, he was woken up by Carl. The dog was frantically barking and licking him to wake him up, but Smith still couldn’t figure out why.

All Smith knew was that he had a sore throat, so he stepped out of bed to grab a glass of water. That’s when he finally noticed the reason behind his dog’s frantic barking and his sore throat;

His house was on fire.

All-day long, there had been a fire smoldering in the walls, but it was not detectable by the fire alarms, only the dog could sense them.

Thanks to Carl, Smith’s life was saved. Carl could detect the fire way earlier before the smoke detectors could, and thanks to his amazing senses, Smith walked out of the house harm-free.

Smith may have rescued Carl from the shelter, but the two were meant to be together.
