Audrey Stone is a 62-year-old woman from Brewster who has an 8-year-old Golden Retriever guide dog named Figo. But Figo has always been more than a guide dog for her.
In June, Stone and Figo were taking their normal daily walk when all of a sudden, their life turned upside down.
A minibus was heading straight for Stone, and in less than a second, the dog broke away from her grasp and threw himself in front of the bus to save his owner’s life.
And then he broke away from my hand and flung himself at the bus, like Superman, he just flew, he jumped up at the bus to stop it
Thankfully, his heroic action saved both their lives. Figo was left with broken front legs after the incident and his owner fell to the ground and suffered fractured elbow, ankle, and three of her ribs.
I don’t remember, I was most likely hit already, but he spotted there was trouble, apparently
So the bus wouldn’t go any further, and he stopped it
Even though the dog was hit pretty hard, he jumped to his owner’s side and stayed there until the medics arrived.
