Each year animals get tested on in U.S laboratories used for medical training, drug, food, or chemical experimentation, and cosmetic testing.
Animals live in really harsh and cruel conditions that cause them to die. They are kept in cages, socially isolated, and psychologically traumatized and then experimented and tested on in the most inhumane ways ever.
So, because of this cruelty, animals eventually die. Each year more than 100 million animals are killed from animal testing.
That’s a really huge number, and regardless of the statistic, no animal should be used and tortured for experimentation and testing.
At these times, we need strong advocates that support animal rights and will spread the cause so this injustice will change and all animals can have a happy life.
Joaquin Phoenix is one of those advocates whose Oscar’s speech said what animal lovers and supporters agree on.
I think, whether we’re talking about gender inequality or racism or queer rights or indigenous rights or animal rights, we’re talking about the fight against injustice.
He is clearly a supporter of animal rights. This injustice for animals happens when they are exploited just because they don’t have a voice so he is trying to be their voice.
We’re talking about the fight against the belief that one nation, one people, one race, one gender, one species, has the right to dominate, use and control another with impunity.
Joaquin believes that no race, gender, or species is above another. So animals should be always treated fairly, respected, and loved.
He believes that it’s important to be the voice of the voiceless to protect and fight for them. Joaquin ended his beautiful speech quoting his brother’s words.
“Run to the rescue with love and peace will follow.”
