If you want to skip the drama of Valentine’s day and enjoy it with the one living thing that you actually love and who loves you back even more – your four-legged pup, then you are not alone.
A new survey conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with online retailer Zulily, showed that 28 percent of Americans are actually planning to spend their day with their pets, not another human being.
2,000 people participated in this poll.
However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any gifts involved. Out of the 2,000 people that were surveyed, 31.76 percent of women and 39.5 percent of women plan to spoil their pets on Valentine’s day with plenty of attention, affection, and gifts.

In fact, 33 percent said they were seriously considering calling in sick to work on the 14th of February to have the full day with their pets.
